Common QuestionsHow do you pronounce Ceili? Ceili is pronounced Kaylee What is my Irish shoe size? Your Irish shoe size can be determined in two ways. You can tell us your American shoe size via the space provided when you place your order on our E-Store and we will attempt to make the conversion. Or, you can trace your feet, in socks, full weight on feet and send us your tracing. We will hold your e-store order until we receive your tracing. Please send us an email indicating a tracing is on the way. Please mail to: We do not recommend faxing your tracing to us. The fax will shrink your tracing. Once we receive your tracing we will choose the correct Irish size for you. It may take a few attempts to correctly fit your feet, don’t worry, we only charge a one time shipping fee for shoes. No matter how many times we ship your shoes back to you via UPS, you are only charged once. And we can proudly say we usually get it right the second time. Once you receive your shoes your Irish shoe size is kept on record at The Ceili Company. The next time you order, we will have past purchase information available to help you choose your next size. Any questions or concerns we have regarding your shoe order will be emailed to you. If we cannot reach you by email we will call the phone number provided on your e-store order. Our sales staff will always follow up with you if they have any questions regarding your order. How do I curl my hair with Soft Spikes? Step One – it’s easy! Wash your hair the night or day before you want to curl your hair. It helps having a little bit of body. Always curl dry hair, wet hair will not hold the curl. Use a “little” bit of spray gel to moisten your hair. Too much spray gel and your hair will be too wet. Use perm tissue for the ends to help prevent fraying. Step Two - take as little hair as possible and begin to roll from the bottom of the hair up to the scalp, not to tight. Tightly rolled curlers can cause headaches. Tuck the end of the Soft Spike into the slot provided and pull. Try to use as many curlers as possible, the more curlers the better the head of curly hair you will have. We recommend at least 2 or 3 packages to start. Each package contains 30 curlers. It sound like a lot of curlers, however you will see, you will still want more! Are trunks also called Lollipops? Yes, our trunks, item 113 are also called Lollipops. We carry the nylon trunks from Danskin. They are comfortable trunks that offer full coverage and movement. We do not carry the full satin trunks. Antonio Pacelli and Feis Mates. Both brands are available in extra lengths in the medium and large sizes. Will my hard shoes stretch to accommodate the Ouch Pouch and Ouch Pouch Jr? Yes, it may take a few practices for the stretch to occur, however, in time the leather in your hard shoes will stretch to comfortably fit both your feet and your Ouch Pouches. Yes, this black 100% Polyester skirt is the only skirt made specifically for Irish dancers on the dance market. It is the perfect skirt for practice, parades and shows. We designed the “Flip and Clip” garment bag for all types of travel as well as full-length storage. This bag, the only one of it’s kind, was designed by The Ceili Company, and is made of very durable Tuft Duck Nylon. It is the only one on the market made specifically for air travel as well as local feisanna. Don’t be confused by our competitors, no other garment bag can withstand the rough and tumbles of a feis and an airplane. Can you explain the differences in the Olive Hurley Videos? Item 149VI Olive Hurley Step by Step Volume 1 is appropriate for the soft shoe beginner. Item 150VII Olive Hurley Step by Step Volume 2 is an instructional video in the hard shoe. Concentrating on the treble jig and hornpipe. Item 528V3 Olive Hurley Step by Step Volume 3 is an instructional video concentrating on several set dances. 5 of these set dances are necessary for those dancers training for their TCRG. What is the method of shipping? We are located in Connecticut and we ship all our domestic orders via UPS. Depending on your proximity to Connecticut your order will take from 1-5 business days to arrive. The closer you are to Connecticut the faster your order will arrive. If you need an estimated time of arrival please email us at pat@ceili.com. We ship all international orders via the United States Post Office. Express delivery is available on all international orders. Does The Ceili Company charge sales tax? State laws require a Connecticut-based business (such as The Ceili Company) to collect sales tax on orders shipped to Connecticut addresses.
